Your first quarter

The founder built the number.
Now it's yours.

You're the first sales leader in a founder-led company. The pipeline lives partly in the CRM and partly in the founder's head, the biggest deals still run through them, and they will judge you on a number they used to carry. Management OS gives you one read of what's real, a rhythm for your team, and a weekly update you can forward to the founder.

One read of the pipeline, the coaching conversation prepped, the weekly update drafted. The hours a first sales leader gets back.

One more hour a week of coaching and career development increases the likelihood of higher sales manager performance by 51.7%. Gartner, Chief Sales Officer Quarterly, 2025

The handoff

What does a first sales leader inherit from a founder?

A first sales leader inherits three things from a founder: relationships the CRM never saw, a forecast built on conviction, and a boss who knows the work.

The founder sold the first customers personally, and some of those buyers will still call them. The deals in the CRM are the ones the founder remembered to log. Founders forecast from what they believe each buyer will do. That instinct got the company here, and it doesn't transfer to a team on its own.

The founder can check your read of any deal from memory. Your credibility comes from seeing the same things sooner, and showing your work.

Your first quarter

One read of the pipeline, one handoff plan, one weekly update.

Connect your CRM on day one. The founder's deals get read the same way as everyone else's.

Management OS pipeline view reading every deal against one standard set of stages
Week 1

One read of the pipeline.

Every deal read against the same standard stages, with the gaps named: no activity in 10 days, a top-10 deal with fewer than three contacts, a close date pushed past quarter end.

When you and the founder disagree, it's about the deal.

The rep lost deals after two rounds of training. The coaching diagnostic finds the pattern and sets the standard, not another course.

Core reps who receive great coaching average 102% of goal; core reps who receive ineffective coaching average 83%. Sales Executive Council (CEB), 2007

Week 4

Step the founder out, deal by deal.

Ask Management OS which deals the founder still owns and who else is engaged on each. Hand them over one at a time, with the founder briefed on each.

The founder stays useful without staying in every deal.

Management OS weekly operating cadence with the Monday brief
Week 12

A weekly update you can forward.

The Monday brief gives you a weekly read to forward to the founder: the forecast by stage, what moved and why.

The founder's questions start from the brief you sent.

Screens from the live product on the Cipher Atlas demo workspace: real UI, synthetic data. Yours runs on your own CRM.

For the founder

The founder can see it before you buy it.

Send the founder the two-minute tour. It runs without a login. If they want the view from their side of the table, the founder page shows it.

Questions

Before you start.

The founder still runs our biggest deals. Is that a problem?

Not at first. It becomes one when nobody can say which deals depend on the founder. Ask Management OS which deals the founder still owns and who else is engaged, then hand them over one at a time.

Who should own the tool, me or the founder?

You. It's built for the leader carrying the number. Forward the founder any brief you want them to see.

We're a small team. Is it too early?

If you lead sellers against a number, it isn't too early. The Leader package covers you and up to three people.

What does it cost after the trial?

From $1,250 a month. Leader covers you and up to 3 people, Team ($1,800) up to 5, and Org ($3,000) up to 10, any mix of managers and reps. Annual billing costs less, and there is no platform fee.

Does it work with our CRM?

It connects read-only to HubSpot, Salesforce, Pipedrive, Zoho CRM, Keap, monday.com, Attio or a spreadsheet.
